Spring has Sprung!

If you're still here - HI!!
I was inspired to put a post together - coz the hallowed yellow skirt ARRIVED in my letter box!!
This skirt has been travelling the globe for a few years and many very awesome people have worn it!!

I wondered when it would arrive.
I thought I might be the first pregnant woman to wear it..

But since my Stan has arrived already he had to feature..
And if you didn't already know, October was international Down Syndrome Awareness/Enlightenment month.
The colours are blue and yellow so, well, that was my inspiration.

Naked boy needed some clothes!

He's a precious little guy.
Unique and cute, just like my other kids.
There was an intense time at the start adjusting to the diagnosis..
and the medical roller coaster continues.. (NOT MY BAG!!)
but Life.Is. Good.

This skirt is unique too. It's hard to not feel spritely and positive in it.
Yellow is most definitely a happy colour!
THanks for all the lovely comments and all the support we've had in the last 3 months. It's been AMAZING!

I have aven been to a few jumble sales recently .. and I'll blog those up some time soon.

AND IN CASE you missed them.. here are all the amazing women of the world in this very skirt..
That's the magnificent Melanie centre left who thrifted the skirt originally.. Check out her blog for links to all the posts featuring these amazing women. And join in too if you wanna!!

Happy Days!

Linda, I'm voting for YOU as the most amazing woman to wear the Yellow Skirt! These photos with your gorgeous little Stan are really special. It's lovely to see you both, he's adorable, and you look fantastic in blue and yellow. I'm so glad to hear you say that despite the roller coaster, life is good. Sending love! xxx

Just found your blog, love the yellow skirt, you look utterly amazing and your sweet Stan is just scrummy. I'm on the other side of the world and it is wet and dreary here, I've got seven and love charity shopping...... Let's have a virtual cuppa and swap no sleep, too much washing but lots of laughter stories xxxx

What a delight to see the TYS worn with such verve and happiness. It IS magical! I liked your messy hair image and the clothes colored in on the boy.

The montage of the previous wearers was special for me (as one of the Traveling Yellow Skirt participants).

Cheers!

All sorts of artists through the ages have shown mothers and babies but honestly your portrait of you with the beautiful Stan is one of the most beautiful. And with all that you have going on you still have time to rock the yellow skirt. You, my dear, are a Star par excellence!!! Lots of Love, Connie*

So much love and warmth in these photos, and I think it's more than a coincidence that one of the colours of Down Syndrome awareness is yellow. The skirt has absorbed some of the joy and creativity from each woman it has spent time with, and I'm glad you were able to enjoy it, and share it with your lovely little Stan.

As a former yellow skirt wearer, I love to see what other women do with it. You created a warm and loving picture with it. You can feel the happiness. Love the picture beneath the sentence "Yellow is most definitely a happy colour". Stan looks so adorable. And you too.
